I loooove free bbqs!! In fact this year, CBS was like the only one w/ the free bbq (in past years, there were heaps!)

I found out about CBS from the free foooood...

And also, CBS was accused of being "in your face" especially last year cos during mission week, we actually managed to get the Freedom Hoodie done by MYC, and got everyone to buy it there, and then came back and everyone had one so all the other CBS-ers wanted one... and we'd all wear it on Tuesday which had CBS AND SOCM and so we'd look like a gang...

Just our wearing it was deemed "in their face"
I was walking up Basser steps w/ 2 friends also in their freedom hoodies, and we were holding some pamphlets but we were going to library lawn...
And so, cos those steps were long, we stopped to hold onto the pole and for me to be all dramatic to them going "waaaah, so out of breath, wait a sec..."

And this guy on the phone was like "*blah blah* - oh I'm about to be accosted by a group of christian fundamentalists" then made a huge detour around us and kept on going. And yeah, the way he said it was like... really really harsh.
And we were just like "huh? we're just resting! looking at the ground!"

Anyway, that's my rant about ppl ranting about us.
As for "in your face evangelism" I don't think walk-up (cold turkey evangelism) is that bad, because alot of people often really do want to know more about Jesus. And when they don't, we just say "okaY!" and keep going.

I think your analogy about telling friends about a great Chinese restaurant is great.
